What does the day entail?
Welcome
Our combined foundational botox and dermal filler course is split into two halves. After an initial welcome and meet and greet with the all-important coffee and croissant, we get stuck into the botox part of the course.
Botulinum toxin theory
First of all there is a theoretical session that involves a presentation and group discussion. We explain the history and pharmacokinetics of botulinum toxin and how it came into use in the cosmetic world. We then explore in detail patient selection, including looking at what might be a contraindication or caution to the use of botox. Whilst the session is professionally delivered, we also keep it as informal as possible so that delegates feel comfortable to ask questions freely, or go over things that they may not quite have grasped.
Different people learn in different ways and we use flip charts, diagrams, practical examples and scenarios to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the theory as possible. After a quick break, so that I can catch my breath, it is on to the practical side of botox.
Botulinum toxin practical
At Underlining Beauty we think it is super important that our delegates get as much hands on experience of injecting real life patients as possible. Each of our delegates will get to inject all areas that have been taught during the theory session. Next it is time for some lunch and probably more caffeine to prepare for the next half of the day…dermal filler.
Dermal filler theory
Again, we follow the same set up…theory first and practical later. The theory looks at how our skin ages, how we choose the right filler product for the right client and the assessment of each client. We also cover potential side effects and how to dissolve filler should the need arise.
Dermal filler practical
During the practical session, our delegates get that real hands on experience assessing the clients individually and injecting filler to the areas required. We keep our sessions to a maximum of six delegates. This small group size means that it feels quite intimate and a safe place for asking questions, everyone gets a good turn at injecting for themselves, they are not straining to watch the other delegates inject, and most importantly that I am never more than centimetres away from them and what they are doing. This close contact supervision means that everyone feels safe and well supported.
Aesthetics as a business
Before the day comes to a close we also include a presentation about setting up as an aesthetics business. We feel that this is such an important part of the day. By the end of the course, we not only want to arm you with the practical knowledge regarding injecting that you need, we also want to give you the practical knowledge of how to turn your learning into a business.

We end the day with certificates, which are CPD approved, photos and a chat over a well-deserved prosecco!

Following all of our courses; all delegates will have a lifetime access to our Resource Library and will be invited into a closed, private Facebook group where you are free to ask questions and share advice and support with all previous UBA delegates.
